Description: WACsmash is a showcase and gallery of dance, film, visual art, music, spoken word, photography, and other artistic work created and produced by undergraduate students in the World Arts and Cultures/Dance Department. Our production’s theme this year is In Another Life.

Folktales and mythology are among humanity’s earliest frameworks for understanding and theorizing the world. They function not merely as stories, but as cultural systems - transmitting values, social norms, and cosmologies across generations. These narratives have profoundly influenced art throughout history, providing a rich symbolic vocabulary for visual works, literature, and performance, offering motifs and archetypes that artists reinterpret across mediums. By translating myth into aesthetic form, “IN ANOTHER LIFE” explores universal human experiences centering love, fear, transformation, mortality, and more, while concurrently engaging with deep cultural memory and identity.
