Pondering the implications of a physical change on one’s sense of self.

Bio.

Born and raised in the countryside of the Philippines, Veniel Ebilane Español, began wiggling in his living room and backyard. Though he did not officially start learning much of dance until the age of 19 in his late last semester senior year of high school from a free program. He was fortunate enough to access such programs from Culture Shock Los Angeles through SIPA (Search to Involve Pilipino Americans) and learned the basic fundamentals and elements of Hip Hop. He later trained and focused on learning house dance with Ray Basa, who was trained under Versa Style Dance Company. He continues in exploring various dance forms and styles.

We would like to acknowledge the Tongva peoples as the traditional caretakers of the land UCLA stands on. We are grateful and pay our due respects to ancestors, elders, and relatives past, present, and emerging.
